A PhD scholarship within Curtin's MIC-JIP

A PhD scholarship is available for an outstanding candidate to conduct research on microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) at the Curtin Corrosion Centre (CCC). In 2021, we established a joint industry project (JIP) in partnership with leading oil and gas companies. The MIC-JIP will develop novel tools and approaches to assess, monitor, mitigate and manage MIC by advancing our understanding of MIC phenomena. The MIC-JIP is founded on a holistic approach that will benefit from industry-academia synergies, the excellent facilities at Curtin University, and the internationally recognized expertise of our multidisciplinary team of researchers, academics, and engineers. The selected candidate will apply knowledge in microbiology and corrosion science to investigate MIC mechanisms.
